Many companies continue to use out of date coatings when they come to design new structure or rehabilitate older structures. Often there are better, more environmentally friendly anti-corrosion coatings which will perform much better than systems which were applied many years ago. Also, modern coatings are easier to apply, often in one single coat, avoiding inter layer contamination and other issues, and saving a huge amount of time in the application process.
